Technical and Business Consultant

Overview
Operating out of CyberWolf offices in Santa Fe, NM, you will manage the implementation of the ACUMEN Book™ software system at publishing firms throughout the world. This business project support occurs via phone, online conferencing, email and fax. You also will provide ongoing business and technical consultation to an assigned group of clients. As the consultant who is familiar with the publisher’s operations, you will be the client’s first resource for technological solutions to business goals and problems. Additionally, you may work on various report writing, system design, and operational and technical research projects. You will be working on a strong team comprised of other technical and business professionals.

Implementation Consulting
Implementations involve the migration of a new client from a former computer system to the ACUMEN Book™ vertical market software. The implementation is handled via phone, online conferencing, email and fax. This process is designed to be conducted using remote project management, training and tools. The new client is provided with a detailed Implementation Workbook to be used as an extensive guide throughout the implementation process. It will be your job to guide the client through the process detailed in the Workbook, helping them to make both data conversion and process operational decisions. Utilizing solid project management skills, you will ensure that the client experiences a successful software implementation process and meets the projected time schedule.

Ongoing Business and Technical Consultation
You will be assigned to specific clients who will contact you with ongoing business and technical issues. Yow will not only aid in solving the publisher's technical problems, but you will be involved in learning about its business requirements and communicating this information to the CyberWolf programming department in order to improve the ACUMEN Book™ software system. This aspect of the position involves utilizing solid communication and analytical skills to enhance problem solving. You will also be the conduit through which to advise and recommend new features and products to your client pool in order to enhance their business operations and solve their requirements issues. This requires up-to-date and accurate familiarity with the internal product development and the various company offerings that benefit the publishers.

Quality Assurance
The ACUMEN Book™ system is continually updated. You will be responsible for a certain number of bug and new feature testing projects for new versions. Some of your initial training for this position will include this activity, plus those tasks related to version control. This baseline experience will allow you an in-depth familiarity with the software and its structure in order to build a basic foundation for consulting.

Projects
From time to time you will be assigned various projects, depending on your skills set. These may include, but are not limited to, report writing, Tech Note submittals, operational research, competitive analyses, user-level system design, etc.

Qualifications

• Experienced in business operations; accounting, inventory, AP, AR, warehousing
• General knowledge of accounting principles
• Serious interest in business-related technology
• Extensive problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written
• Solid experience in technology and computer business applications
• Customer service orientation and philosophy
• Publishing industry and/or ACUMEN experience is a strong plus if coupled with the above skills.
