Hewlett-Packard Utilizes 4D for Key Initiative
4th Dimension (4D), the
database used by ACUMEN Book, has been used by Hewlett-Packard, a
Fortune 500 company, in the development of the recently announced
HP OpenView storage management software.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (January 13, 2003): 4D, Inc., publishers of
the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite,
today announced that the 4th Dimension suite of tools was used to
assist in the development of the recently announced HP OpenView Storage
Media Operations. The HP OpenView storage management software family
enables dramatically improved levels of management simplicity and
automation.

HP OpenView Storage Media Operations is designed for the many companies

storage media tracking and enforces policies to increase data availability
and maximize the effectiveness of media operations. The software is
currently in use at more than a dozen HP data centers around the world
managing more than 900,000 pieces of storage media.
