ACUMEN Book™ Introduces Returns Processing
Optional Module
Santa Fe, New Mexico (October 11, 2004):
ACUMEN Book’s new Returns Processing Optional Module
will help independent publishers cut costs and increase sales
by speeding up the returns process. The Module is valuable
for ACUMEN publishers that accept returns directly, or import
returns data from a fulfillment service. CyberWolf Inc., the
developer of ACUMEN Book, introduced the Optional Module today.
Book inventory is often tied up by an inefficient and labor-intensive
method of processing returns. By designing an efficient technology
solution, CyberWolf has streamlined the workflow of returns
processing so that valuable inventory can quickly be available
to customers.
With the Returns Processing Optional Module, publishers obtain
the following benefits:
- Enter returns rapidly into ACUMEN using a bar code scanner
- Import returns data from a mobile bar code scanner or
fulfillment service
- Set up sophisticated rules for automatically assigning
discounts when the Invoice ID is not provided
- Generate a putaway report or export putaway data to
a mobile bar code scanner
- Choose from two different return document flow processes
A key component for increasing speed and accuracy is bar code
data collection using mobile devices. Pragmatyxs, Inc., our
technology partner, is offering hand-held computers with preloaded
and configured ACUMEN-compatible Mobile Returns Processing
software.
Bar code data collection provides businesses with one
of the fastest returns on investment available today. An error
rate of 1 in 1 million characters for bar code data collection
versus 1 in 300 characters for manual data input speaks for
itself. We are excited to be teaming with CyberWolf to provide
a mobile scanning solution for their new Returns Processing
module. said Phil Van Hout of Pragmatyxs, Inc.
Ware-Pak, one of ACUMEN’s primary warehousing and fulfillment
service partners, has already announced they will be supporting
the module. We wanted to be out in front on this because it demonstrates our commitment to the ACUMEN
publishing community and will ensure that our mutual clients
maximize the benefits they receive by entrusting this important
aspect of their operations to Ware-Pak. said Mark Plechaty,
CEO of Ware-Pak.
Larry Wolf, CyberWolf Inc. President and Chief Technology
Officer said, The Returns Processing module should
dramatically increase productivity while making returned inventory
available for sale sooner. We expect publishers to experience
a very rapid ROI from this inexpensive but powerful solution.
The Returns Processing module is the first deliverable from
our comprehensive warehousing development effort and I think
it will make a true impact on our clients’ operations.
The Returns Processing module is optional; therefore it is
not part of the ACUMEN Book Core System. Please discuss activating
Returns Processing with your ACUMEN Support Representative
