User Interface
ACUMEN's user-friendly,
graphical interface has been designed from the ground up to give users
a positive work experience and to enhance productivity. Today's knowledge-based
workers need a flexible, intuitive work-space that supports their
multi-faceted responsibilities. The ACUMEN interface addresses this
need with the following key concepts: |
- Multi-tasking
- Related Data Access
- Menu Commands with Keyboard Equivalents
- Tabbed Form Pages
- Field Label Cues
- Data Entry Auto-Formatting
- Icon Tool Tips
- English-language Searching
- Main Hierarchical Menu for Instant Access

| Multi-tasking means users
can have an unlimited number of windows open at the same time and
quickly navigate between them. There is no need to back out of one
area to get to another area. For example, customer service reps can
be entering an order in one window while viewing a list of the customer's
previous orders in another window and a discount schedule in a third
window. Window navigation is handled by simply clicking on a different
window or using the Open Windows toolbar. |

One of the great things
about working in a database like ACUMEN is the integrated related
data. This is data that is stored in different files that provides
meaningful information about data in yet another file. For example;
the AR, Back Orders, Locations, and Standing Orders are all files
that contain information about Customers. ACUMEN's interface takes
full advantage of these data relationships through the use of Open
Related Record buttons and Related Lists.
Open Related Record buttons allow users to quickly access the form
of one related record from another. Example: open a Customer form
from an Invoice. |

 |
| |
| Related Lists enable you
to choose, view, access and update related data when there are multiple
related records. The Related List drop-down menu allows you to quickly
choose the related file data you want to view. |

| ACUMEN's Menu Commands are
accessed through menus and buttons. The most frequently used commands
also have Keyboard Equivalents so that users can access them more
quickly. The keyboard equivalents are listed next to the menu command
or in the Icon Tool Tip: |
